In an effort to maintain the health of your teeth, you'll have dental cleaning appointments scheduled with us every 6 months. During this time, you will also have a quick oral exam to check for any problems.

What is Considered "Preventative Dental Care"?
The health of your teeth is important to your overall health. We are a family dentist, and we provide dental care for children and adults to help you maintain strong teeth for a great smile. Our friendly dental staff can assist you in maintaining good oral hygiene to prevent future dental problems. Dental problems like gum disease and cavities can easily be avoided by practicing preventative dental care.
When it comes to effective preventative dental care, both the dental care you get at our office and the dental hygiene you practice at home are equally important. Practicing good oral hygiene is something that everyone in your family should do, from adults (and older kids with all their adult teeth) down to small children just learning how to brush and floss. It’s never too early to learn preventative dental care!
The first step to healthy gums and teeth is to brush your teeth properly at least twice per day, and especially after eating sweet or sticky food. Flossing is another important part of your oral hygiene to remove plaque and food particles between your teeth, and at the base of your gums. By brushing, flossing and using an anti-plaque mouthwash, you will keep your mouth clean and healthy.
Another important step to ensure your teeth in tip-top shape is to visit our dental office regularly for check-ups and cleanings — and not just for a cleaner smile. The health of your teeth can have an impact on your overall health. For example, periodontal disease (gum disease) that goes untreated can actually cause health problems and infections in other parts of your body.
Visiting the dentist doesn’t have to be a stressful experience, especially when you’ve been practicing good oral health habits. Even if you haven’t, we’re here to help, not judge! Our experienced dental professionals are here to answer your questions about how to take care of your teeth, including proper tooth brushing and flossing methods.
We’re here to be your family dentist, and we see adults, kids and teens, as well as children — including those who have never been to the dentist before. Contact us today to schedule your appointment!
